Bible in a Box is a special NLChurch initiative celebrating 100 years, designed to help families grow in God’s Word together. Each box includes resources to memorize 100 key Bible verses Pastor Troy believes build a strong foundation for lifelong spiritual growth.

1. Start by saying the verse out loud and speaking it like you truly believe it. Repeat it three to five times, then try saying it as if you were preaching it, singing it, and explaining it with understanding. By using different tones and expressions, you’ll connect more deeply with the meaning of the verse and help it stick in your memory.
2. As you say the verse out loud, take time to understand its logic, flow, and meaning. Start personally by asking how the Scripture speaks to you. Review each word, digest its meaning, and say it out loud again. Then explore it contextually by considering who wrote it, why it was written, when it was written, and what comes before and after the verse. Finally, for those who want to go deeper, reflect theologically on how the verse aligns with the rest of Scripture and reveals the character of God.
3. Repeat the verse again and again until it becomes second nature. Keep saying it until you no longer have to think about the words—you simply know them. Through consistent repetition, the Scripture moves from something you’re learning to something that’s written on your heart.

Our desire is for the whole family to memorize scripture together. These tips are some of the ways you can incorporate memorizing scripture into your everyday life. Use what works best for your family and let's memorize God’s word in the home. Having kids hide God’s Word in their hearts now helps them carry truth with them wherever they go. No matter what they face, they will be able to come back to these verses.
Make up silly or simple motions to go along with the verse. Say it together while doing themotions.
Pick a song your kids already love and swap out the words for the scripture.
Read the scripture together before bed. Talk about what it means and how you can live it out tomorrow.
When your child memorizes a verse, celebrate with a small reward like a sticker, treat, or prize. It’s a fun way to cheer them on and make this something they look forward to.
Memorization isn’t about talent, it’s about rhythm. A simple routine can transform the way you remember.
Make memorization easier by placing your cards where you’ll naturally see and review them every day.
You don’t have to memorize alone. Invite a friend, spouse, or family member to join you.
Set a realistic goal to memorize a few verses each week and build steady, sustainable progress over time.
Teaching Scripture to someone else helps you understand it more clearly and remember it more deeply.
Writing Scripture by hand slows you down and helps the words stick in your mind and heart.
Go beyond memorization by exploring the context and meaning behind the words.
Turn Scripture into action by writing how the passage applies to your everyday life.
We’d love to meet you! Whether you're new to church or just new to NL, you belong here!
