As Christ Followers, we believe that we are stewards of God's resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout scripture, we are reminded of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. His Word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving.

How does a follower of Jesus give? What does God expect?

A follower of Jesus excel in the grace of giving. (2 Corinthians 8:7) God expects us to be good stewards, not to meet some petty, required percentage.
A follower of Jesus gives firstfruits not last fruits (Proverbs 3:9)
A follower of Jesus is a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7)
A follower of Jesus gives systematically (2 Corinthians 16:1)
A follower of Jesus is generous (2 Corinthians 9:6)
A follower of Jesus sees tithe as the foundation not the ceiling in their giving
A follower of Jesus doesn't tip God, but tithe back to God.

The literal meaning of the word tithe is "a tenth" or 10%. A tithe is the firstfruit of your harvest. This is given to God through your home church in faith as a practical means to finance the mission of the church (Malachi 3:8-10, Matthew 23:23)
